I was going to save this for a few days, but I decided that given recent developments that I don't want to. I don't write a whole hell of a lot of actual entries in this thing myself, so I'm trying something new.
You see, I'm the luckiest damn bloke in the world. Not only do I have a hell of a family that has been supportive of me since before I can remember, but I am married to the most amazing woman in the world. On Tuesday, we'll have been married for five years. Some days I'll look at that number and think that it feels like forever, other days it will feel as though I had just gathered up the courage to ask her out the day prior.
Alice and I have known one another since more or less forever. We were sorted into Gryffindor together, we had the same group of friends, we were prefects and then Heads together, and then we were both accepted into Auror training. Throughout this period, I was a typical idiot bloke, not realizing that the person that I was meant to be with was right there in front of me.
But then I wised up. Halfway through Auror training, it was like I realized what an idiot I was being and after a lot of internal battles and convincing myself that she wouldn't think I was crazy, I asked her out. She said yes. We continued kicking arse as Aurors, but made time to get married. Have a baby together (Neville, in case you're not in the know). Sometimes I'm afraid that I'm too lucky and one of these days I'll wake up and it will all be gone, but it's not. Not yet, at least.
All in all, Alice Longbottom: You are the love of my life, the light in my world, and the mother of my child. You are absolutely perfect in every damn way and you're completely right -- I wouldn't change you because there is not one thing that I would want to change. You are beautiful, have the best sense of humor, are kind, compassionate, and so loving. Anyone that doesn't realize that is missing out and I sure as hell feel sorry for them. Thank you for putting up with me and here's to many, many more anniversaries. I love you.
Now have some pictures: ( Wave your wands! )
Anyway. I know that this comes on the tail of my wife saying some nice things this morning, so your journals are filled with all sorts of displays of Longbottom affection, but you're just going to have to deal with it. At least we're not the couple that was always snogging in front of you during Quidditch games at Hogwarts. (Although, maybe we would have been had we been together then.)

[Warded to Auror Team Leaders & Up]
I've got one more appointment on Monday, but as of this morning my Healer said that I ought to be fit to get back to the office next week. My appointment on Monday will determine if I'm doing all of your paperwork or actually able to go out into the field, so feel free to sit on the edge of your seat in anticipation for that update.

[Warded to Auror Team A]
Just so you're hearing it from me first, I'll be back in the office next week so you will see me for Tuesday's night shift. I hope you haven't missed me too much.

Today is a glorious day.

So, I'm supposed to just put the quill
Oh, hey there it goes. Would you look at that? Haven't had to use one of these before.
Anyway, hi. Apparently I've been sleeping for a few days and I've got new intestines and a rib and my beard is coming in again and it's all real damn exciting, but I'm not sleeping anymore even though I feel like I could for another few days. That's a long sentence, Quill, you could have
Whatever.
I do want to say thanks for the well wishes and the garden I've got in my room at St. Mungo's. It's appreciated.

[Warded to the Order]
I don't know if anyone is working on this, but since I've not heard from anyone, I'm going to jump on it. If someone is working on it, let me know and I'll stand down.
We've had enough of the wireless broadcasts from the Death Eaters that I think we can compare and contrast some of the words that were said and phrases and tone to what some of our suspected sorts might say in the journals. I've got copies of the recordings from work.
Anyone that wants to help, please chime in. It would be appreciated. If you've made any connections previous, also let me know.
Barring any DMLE emergency, I'm planning on working on this during my spare time over the next week.

Because I let my wife boss me around (can you blame me?), I made my version of cheese pie last night. Not to be confused with cheesecake, which is definitely cake and not a pie and no logic anyone throws at me will convince me otherwise so don't even bother with it.
I'm proud of my cheese pie, so here I am to brag about it.
( Wave your wand! )
Yum. Days off never tasted so good.

This information is coming secondhand from the DMLE.
Amelia Bones received an owl with an address that went to a home of a family of Muggles.
Aurors found the family murdered and Jon Bones at the scene. He's fine but appears to have been unconscious and doesn't remember anything that happened. Confused, woozy. He's at St. Mungo's and hasn't been questioned yet.
"Blood traitor" was written on the wall. There were no signs of forced entry. Bodies were dragged from the sitting room to the dining area where they were sitting at a table.
Everything is currently being processed by the lab.
Ed and Cally are fine.
added: Going into the DMLE. Will give more info as it comes.

If I get sick there will be hell to pay.
Just letting you know now, sick people of the DMLE.
